Did you know that Vancouver WA was once ranked the fifth most romantic city in the U.S. by Amazon? Whatever Valentine's Day means to you, we hope it's filled with love for your family, friends, and yourself! Here are a few date ideas and events happening in and around The Couve this holiday.

Wine & Chocolate

When we think Valentine’s Day, we think wine and chocolate—even better when it’s local! Members of the SW Washington Winery Association have put together the perfect date activity for you and your honey, or the gals in your life, the weekend prior to the love-centric holiday.

Stay in town or wander to the countryside. Check out our Wineries & Tasting Rooms page to see which ones are close by or near each other for winery-hopping. (Warning: Drink responsibly—they are all tasty!)

Galentine’s Celebration

Celebrate Galentine’s Day (on February 13) by heading downtown. Start at Fleur Chocolatte & Wine for some pre-dinner chocolate truffles and a delightful wine pairing (there are no rules on Galentine’s Day). From there, head to Dediko to share a delicious meal of cheese bread and dumplings. Afterward, make your way to The Grocery Cocktail & Social to close out the holiday with a toast to friendship and love.

Fit for the Foodie

For great food and a special experience, head to the newly opened Magnolia Tavern with an eye-catching Valentine’s Day menu with a southern flair that includes cocktails like Manhattan After Dark (Chocolate Manhattan), Bitter Hearts, and Clover Club.

Another dinner date idea: Elements Restaurant is open for dinner service on both Sunday (February 13th) and Monday (February 14th) to celebrate. Reservations go quickly so make sure to book your table! The Valentine’s Day menu will be a four-course meal with everything from arborio fried oysters, duck leg confit, to chocolate bourbon cake.

For a quiet unique evening, UnderBar is preparing for a romantic Valentine’s night with dinner and drinks. Enjoy their full menu including fan favorites like the build-your-own grilled cheese masterpiece, the underburger, and characteristic cocktails like the basil gimlet.

Weekend Outings

On Friday, February 11, the Night Market Vancouver’s Valentine's line-up is back! Discover local brands and shop products from more than 80 different makers! Enjoy live music, rotating entertainment, a DJ, dance lessons, and more. All ages are welcome with food and drinks available for purchase. (Admission: $5 Entry Online or $6 at Door)

Bring your sweetie, best friend, or first date to the Vancouver Art Space for a Double Canvas Valentines Project for two. Experience two hours of painting and leave with an artwork keepsake and great memory.

Step outside to appreciate your surroundings while reconnecting with family, friends, or yourself. Take a walk around Officers Row and the Fort Vancouver area, strolling through the trees and garden in front of the reconstructed Fort. Take a sunset stroll along the water on the Columbia River Waterfront Renaissance Trail. Depending on the weather, a drive along the Columbia River Gorge with a hike up Beacon Rock, and an afternoon coffee at Kafiex on your way back to Vancouver makes for a wonderful weekend outing.
