Public Art & Galleries

The Vancouver Arts District brings life to the city. In addition to downtown’s oldest icon of the arts, Kiggins Theatre—illuminating the streets since 1936—new splashes of color complete the creative atmosphere.

Walking along the blocks surrounding Main Street, visitors are greeted by more than 24 murals adorning the sides of downtown buildings, bridges, and walls. Commissioned by the Clark County Mural Society and created by local artists, many of the depictions help tell the story of the city’s rich history.

Sculptures by Northwest artists, like Uptown Village’s otherworldly “The Visitor” and the waterfront’s iconic “Ilchee,” will stop you in your tracks with their detailed designs and inspired site locations. Join Vancouver’s Downtown Association each month for First Friday, which keeps local businesses open late and features rotating gallery exhibits, including glass-blowing demonstrations at Firehouse Glass. Visit the diverse array of galleries scattering downtown to be amazed and inspired.
