Salmon Creek Park & Klineline Pond

Kids running around the splash pad and fishing poles in the pond eager to catch a bite are common scenes at Klineline Pond. A popular swimming spot in Vancouver USA, the pond, encompassed within Salmon Creek Regional Park, has a roped swimming area, observation platforms, and a life jacket loaner station to encourage safety.

The park and pond are located at the east end of the 3-mile-long paved Salmon Creek Greenway Trail, and next to the Salmon Creek Sports Association Complex where the Vancouver Girls Softball Association teams play their home games. Despite the urban setting, the 35 acres of developed parkland and 368 acres of undeveloped green space is a habitat for a variety of wildlife, including rabbits, deer, turtles, and beavers. Nearby places to eat and drink include Brothers Cascadia Brewing with its food cart pod trio, Amaro’s Table’s north Hazel Dell location, and Farrar’s Bistro just up the hill from the Salmon Creek Greenway Trail’s other end.

Quick Facts:

- The sandy beach area at Klineline Pond has lifeguards on duty during the summer only
- A parking fee of $3 for cars is collected year-round. Arrive early on sunny summer weekend days, as lines of cars waiting to enter the park is common.
