A five-acre gem in the heart of Vancouver, Esther Short Park is the oldest public square in the state of Washington. It was established in 1853 and is now anchored at its southeast corner by the 69-foot Salmon Run Bell Tower. The system consists of 35 cast bronze bells that chime every quarter hour from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. Esther Short Park also hosts several popular events and festivals throughout the year including the Vancouver USA Arts & Music Festival in July and August.
