Nine individuals directly involved with the ground-breaking adaptive-reuse of Officers Row at the former Vancouver Barracks shared their recollections in oral history interviews. The rehabilitation of these 21 buildings in 1988, their use today, and their continuing preservation mean that this important community resource was brought back to life and can be passed on to future generations. Preserving Officers Row was one of the community's contributions to the commemoration of the Washington State Centennial in 1989. The oral history recordation was created in turn by The Historic Trust as part of the local observance of America250. The project was supported in part with funds from the Clark County Historical Promotion Grants Program, and also by generous gifts from donors to the Trust.
