St. Patrick's Day is all about finding the luck of the Irish—and a few pints of green beer never hurt either. With the big day just around the corner, it's time to start planning your celebration. Whether you're looking for an extra-special Irish whiskey cocktail, a fun (and festive) twist on a classic cocktail, or a morning brew we're here to help you find an extra "dash" of green (and magic) this holiday!

Morning Drinks to Awaken the Inner Leprechaun in You

Whether your AM is filled with caffeine or invigorating blended fruits and veggies, go for the green this Thursday. Dandelion Teahouse Apothecary fully embraces the holiday all month long with creations creatively named like the Nutty Professor made with pistachio matcha, and topped with whipped cream and fancy sprinkles. The Great North coffee shop is hoping to Matcha away the wet weather with their tasty matcha latte. Roll up to Dev’s Coffee Bar for an Oatey Irishmen full of hazelnut and Irish cream flavor, or the Fool’s Gold Lotus for a treat delicious enough to fuel all of your adventures to the end of the rainbow.

For a Healthy Start to the Day

From self-care smoothies to juices that fight inflammation, you can always find something green on Be Well’s tropical menu. Direct your eyes to the Green Queen or the Be Illin’ on Mighty Bowl’s list of nutrient-dense and hydrating green juices sure to kickstart your day.

Boozy Drinks to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day

For the whole month of March, The Sedgwick, downtown is offering fun St. Patty’s day inspired cocktails. With names like “We All Need a Lucky Rabbit’s Foot” featuring Dead Rabbit Irish whiskey and “Leprechaun’s Cream” with Irish cream liquor, you'll be feeling the luck of the Irish in no time. Choose the classic lime flavor at DOSALAS Latin Kitchen + tequila bar, which offers a rainbow of options. A heated debate among brewers, green beer can be hard to come by. McMenamins on the Columbia has been known to serve up pints of tinted hops, but at the very least, find a creamy Irish Stout and a warm Irish Coffee on the menu. Celebrate St. Patrick's Day without the booze with The Yard Milkshake Bar's March specials, featuring Who's Your Patty? and BlackBerry Cobbler Crumble ice cream treats in vanilla iced jars, topped with whipped cream and colorful sprinkles.

St. Patrick's Day Like a Local

We’d be remiss to bring up St. Patrick’s Day in Vancouver, WA without mentioning Shanahan’s and Grady’s, the city’s two Irish pubs that never have a shortage of Jameson or Guinness on hand. For those wanting to get festivities started early, head to Dulin’s Village Cafe for an Irish-themed brunch. With their Irish Banger Sausage and Irish-inspired potato dish, Dublin, you’ll quickly find yourself getting into the spirit. The Brickhouse's Irish music, dancing, and the owner's Irish background make it another authentic and enjoyable experience. Make sure to add it to your itinerary for a truly memorable holiday celebration.

For the active bunch, join the annual Couve Clover Run and celebrate in your festive green while running or walking 3, 7, or 10 miles along an extremely fast and scenic course to support local charities. Then cool down with a pint from Ghost Runners Brewery and their Strong Leg imperial stout.
