SEVEN RECEIVE CLARK COUNTY TOURISM AWARDS 
VANCOUVER, Wash. - Seven recipients of the Clark County Tourism Awards were announced at 
an awards ceremony held yesterday, February 18, at The Heathman Lodge.   
Sponsored by the Vancouver Business Journal, this annual awards celebration is hosted by the 
Southwest Washington Convention & Visitors Bureau with support from the Clark County Lodging 
Association, the City of Vancouver and Clark County.  It highlights the achievements, successes, 
partnerships, and leaders in Clark County's growing tourism industry. 
Tim Leavitt, Mayor of the City of Vancouver, and Clark County Commissioner Steve Stuart were 
there to speak on the importance of tourism in creating jobs, providing business opportunities and in 
strengthening our local economy.   
Tourism is a vital component of our community that generates $421 million in direct visitor spending 
in Clark County each year.  The industry employs over 4,000 people in the County and brings in 
nearly $30 million in state and local tax revenue.  The Clark County Tourism Awards recognizes the 
people in the industry, businesses, events and attractions that contribute to the success of this industry 
in our community. 
This year's awardees in each of the categories are: 
People's Choice Restaurant Award : Hudson's Bar & Grill 
Rising Star in Tourism Award: Andrea Dauber - Phoenix Inn Suites
Retail Excellence Award: Vancouver Farmers Market    
Outstanding Event Award: Clark County Fair    
Outstanding Attraction or Venue: The Amphitheater At Clark County
Outstanding Tourism Service Award: Fort Vancouver National Site
Outstanding Tourism Impact Award: NAIA Cross Country National Championships
