This wheel class is all about exploring the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel in a relaxed and low pressure environment. Let go of expectations and embrace the messy fun & wobbly first attempts. No room for intimidation here- just a supportive space to let your creativity flow! Your instructor will guide you step-by-step through the process of centering your clay, opening the clay, and pulling up the walls of your piece.
If you do make a piece you'd like to keep, our studio staff will trim, fire, and glaze your piece at no additional cost, which can then be picked up in a few weeks. Otherwise, your clay will be recycled for our next classes to practice with!
Class Details: -Date & Time: Friday July 4th, 10:00am-11:30am. As this is a fast class we ask that you arrive on time so that we can get started right away. -Location: Kilnfolk Clay Studio, 108 W 6th Street, Vancouver WA 98660. Metered street parking downtown, or secure parking is available one block away in the Lot #18 Park 'n Go Vancouver Center Garage. -Price: $70 per person -What's Included: A 1.5 hour guided class focused on learning the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel. -Age recommendation: 12 and up please. We do offer a separate wheel class geared towards families and younger children called Family Wheel on Sunday afternoons.
