Fall 2015

This Veterans Day, Vancouver USA salutes all of our past and active military service men and women. We are thankful for their service defending our country and protecting our freedom.

Home to the Pacific Northwest's first military post at Vancouver Barracks, Vancouver USA has always been a military community at its core. This city's rich and cultural history has roots dating back to the 1800s with Hudson's Bay Company at Fort Vancouver through World War II with the Kaiser Shipyards along the Columbia River waterfront. The community continues this military tradition with countless area citizens who have stepped up to serve their country and continue to do so post-service with community awareness events, veteran affairs groups and military support networks.
